Volunteer Fire Department
Volunteers Needed
The Abernathy Volunteer Fire Department is a fire and rescue team that serves Hale and Lubbock counties and the city of Abernathy. Members of the department and volunteers dedicated to serving the community's needs. AVFD's meeting schedule is as follows:
2nd Tuesday of the month - Business
3rd Monday of the month - Work night
4th Tuesday of the month - Training

Meals on Wheels
Volunteers and Donations needed
Did you know that Meals on Wheels is available to Abernathy residents?If you are interested in meal deliveries, contact Esther Atchley @ (806) 577-6259.
To volunteer, contact Dean Huffaker @ (806) 298-5745.
Contact Frankie Mills @ (806) 298-2752 if you would like to provide monetary donations to the program.
Emergency Medical Services
Volunteers needed
Abernathy Emergency Medical Services are in need of volunteers. To join EMS, you must have an EMT Basic Certification and have passed the National Registry. Men are especially encouraged to volunteer because of the heavy lifting involved with EMS services.
Galloway Love Fund
Donations needed
The Galloway Love Fund has been establishedby the Lions Club to benefit Kevin Galloway. Kevin is a 1987 graduates of AHS and the son of Floyd Galloway and the late LaRita Galloway Myatt. Kevin is completely disabled and unable to work, and he has exhausted all of retirement and savings funds. Donations are being accepted at First State Bank and Vista Bank in Abernathy.

Help a family in need this holiday season! Adopt a family by visiting the Post Office. Gift return deadline is December 16th at 4 pm.
